Verb Conjugations (Present Tense - Imperfective)
Imperfective verbs describe actions that are ongoing, repeated, or not completed. In the present tense, Serbian verbs follow several conjugation patterns based on their stem and infinitive ending.
-ам conjugation: Includes verbs like читати (to read), радити (to work). Endings: -ам, -аш, -а, -амо, -ате, -ају.
- Example: читати -> Ја читам (I read/am reading), Ти читаш (You read/are reading), Он/Она/Оно чита (He/She/It reads/is reading), Ми читамо (We read/are reading), Ви читате (You read/are reading), Они/Оне читају (They read/are reading).
-ем conjugation: Includes verbs like видети (to see), трпети (to suffer). Endings: -им, -иш, -и, -имо, -ите, -е or -у.
- Example: видети -> Ја видим (I see/am seeing), Ти видиш (You see/am seeing), Он/Она/Оно види (He/She/It sees/is seeing), Ми видимо (We see/are seeing), Ви видите (You see/are seeing), Они/Оне виде (They see/are seeing).
-јем conjugation: Includes verbs like пити (to drink), живети (to live). Endings often involve -ј-.
