Verb Conjugations (Present Tense - Imperfective)
Imperfective verbs describe actions that are ongoing, repeated, or not completed. In the present tense, Lower Sorbian verbs have several conjugation patterns based on their stem and infinitive ending.
Type 1 (often -aś stem): Includes verbs like cytaś (to read), źěłaś (to do). Endings: -am, -aš, -a, -amy, -aśe, -aju.
- Example: cytaś -> Ja cytam, Ty cytaš, Wón/Wóna/Wóno cyta, My cytamy, Wy cytaśe, Wóni/Wone cytaju.
Type 2 (often -iś, -yś stem): Includes verbs like powědaś (to speak), wiźeś (to see). Endings: -im/-ym, -iš/-yš, -i/-y, -imy/-ymy, -iśe/-yśe, -e- / -e-.
- Example: powědaś -> Ja powěźim, Ty powěźiš, Wón/Wóna/Wóno powěźi, My powěźimy, Wy powěźiśe, Wóni/Wone powěźe.
